These fine torcheres formerly formed part of the furnishings of Killeen House, Co. Galway, Ireland. Built in the early 1840’s, Killeen House, originally known as New Park, was purchased by the prominent Irish Comyn family in 1849. The Family roots can be traced back to Robert of Comyn, a noble who accompanied William the Conquerer in 1066, and who was subsequently made Earl of Northumberland. The house commands an impressive site situated on the edge of Lough Corrib in County Galway, Irelands second largest lake.
