Exceptional 19th-Century Furniture
Exceptional exhibition furniture is central to Adrian Alan’s specialism, with works by leading makers including Charles-Guillaume Winckelsen, François Linke, Henry Dasson, Maison Beurdeley, Emmanuel Zwiener and Michelangelo Barberi. Each piece is researched through its construction, marks, provenance and comparable examples to establish its historical significance.

Sculpture and the Art of the 19th Century
Adrian Alan will also present important 19th-century sculpture in bronze and marble. Particular attention is given to the history of each model, including its sculptor, foundry, edition, exhibition history and provenance.

Rediscovering the Exceptional
Adrian Alan has a longstanding interest in rare and long-lost works whose histories can be rediscovered through detailed research. Provenance, craftsmanship, original context and historical significance are central to the gallery’s approach to the 19th-century decorative arts.
