Description

A Set of Eight Regency Polychrome-Painted And Parcel-Gilt Dining Chairs. In the manner of John Gee.

Comprising a pair of open armchairs and six side chairs. Each with cream painted mahogany frames decorated with swags and flowers. Each with arched splat back. With caned seats. Refreshments to decoration.

The London workshops of John Gee was listed as “Chairmaker & Turner” at No 49 Wardour Street, London from 1799, then in 1803 as “Chairmaker & Turner” to His Majesty the King.
