Gaetano Rossi (1829-?)
Gaetano Rossi was born on 18 March 1829 in Naples and worked there. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and devoted himself particularly to copying the ancient statues found in the principal museums of Naples, Rome, and Florence. However, he also executed original works, including several portraits, a bust of a young woman, ‘The Little Fisherman’, ‘Two Women’, ‘Venus’, and others whose titles are unknown.
