A Fine Gilt and Silvered Bronze Porcelain Inset Casket.
This casket of large proportions has gilt and silvered bronze sculptural mounts. The porcelain panels to the sides and to the top are finely painted with courting couples in eighteenth century dress depicting scène galantes. The handle with cherubic masks above a hinged lid cornered by cornucopia and enclosing a blue velvet lined interior. The front with a mask escutcheon. The lower part with a caryatid cherub to each corner, on a foliate cast base with scrolled feet
