A Fine Victorian Gilt-Bronze Mounted Marquetry Inlaid Bureau De Dame.

This richly decorated bureau de dame is of bombe shape beautifully inlaid overall with marquetry foliate sprays, exotic birds, butterflies, shells, and foliage.

The rectangular top with gilt-bronze acanthus rim sits above a sloping fall front enclosing a fitted interior with pigeon holes flanked by short drawers and a tooled leather writing slide; below is a shaped frieze drawer, similarly embellished, and raised on elegant cabriole legs headed by gilt-bronze foliate mounts and terminating in scrolled sabots.
