Description

A Louis XIV Style Gilt-Bronze Cut-Brass Inlaid ‘Boulle’ Marquetry and Ebonised Mantle Clock.

The architectural body with a domed pediment surmounted by a seated figure of cupid corned by urn finials. The angles with herm figures. The dials cast in relief with Berainesque scrolls with two winding apertures, blue steel hands and enamel Roman numerals.

The dial behind a glass door with relief cast figures emblematic of wisdom and learning. The sides glazed. Supported on scrolled fitted with masks. The centre of the base to the front with a ‘Boulle’ lambrequin. The silk-suspension twin-barrel movement with strike on bell.
