description

A Pair of Cast Iron Hunting Dogs by Henri-Alfred Jacquemart.

Each signed 'A.J'.

This superbly detailed pair of hunting dogs or 'chiens de chasse' were modelled by the sculptor Henri-Alfred Jacquemart who was renowned for his large scale 'animalier' work. One modelled with a game bird at his feet, the other with a leather collar at his feet and raised on rounded rectangular bases.  Finely cast in iron they are almost certainly edited by the renowned FONDERIES DU VAL D'OSNE.
