A Very Fine Louis XV Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Serpentine Vitrine With Boulle Marquetry Panels.
The vitrine has a shaped cresting rail surmounted by a scrolling gilt-bronze rococo style finial, above three serpentine shaped glass doors. The central door opening to an interior fitted with two glass shelves. Beneath the glass doors are finely executed boulle marquetry panels of red tortoiseshell and cut brass depicting a classical vase issuing flowers framed by scrolling foliate forms and arabesque.
The sides of the vitrine are fitted with corresponding curved glass and boulle marquetry panels above a shaped apron and slender legs terminating in gilt-bronze foliate mounts.
