This elegant mahogany commode is surmounted by a brocatelle jaune d'Espagne marble top. The central door is inset with a fine Japanese gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e lacquer panel on a black ground, depicting buildings in a stylised landscape by the shore, with wading cranes.
