Description
An Original Pair of Art Deco ‘Mazda’ Table Lamps by Compagnie des Lampes de Paris.
Bearing a label to the base of one lamp for ‘MAZDA’
These iconic Art Deco table lamps with their elegant profile, opaline shades, chrome fitments and ebonised stems were made by the French light bulb and electrical manufacturer Compagnie des Lampes de Paris under their Mazda brand.
The lamps are rare period examples retaining their original opaline glass shades and fittings, including the shade carriers and beaded chain pull switches. The lamps are now rewired to conform to modern standards,.
Produced as table lamps and as floor standing up-lighters from the 1920’s to the 1940’s, the timeless design of these modernist lamps has seen their popularity continue to the present day.
Period examples such as the pair we offer here remain highly sought after by collectors and those with an eye for design and originality.
