Description
A Fine Pair of Neo-Grec Patinated Parcel Gilt-Bronze and Campan Rouge Marble Candelabra by G. Servant.
Each vase is of amphora form raised on tripartite supports and decorated with figures of Grecian deities.
This pair of candelabra is a fine example of the work in the goût Grec by the celebrated Parisian bronzier Georges Servant (c.1828-c.1888). Amphora shapes decorated in this style were highly fashionable throughout the 19th century, and other makers such as Barbedienne and Levillain adopted the form and style too.
Please note one shade with old restoration.
