An Unusual Pair of Art Deco Patinated Bronze ‘Juggler’ Figural Table Lamps, by Roland Paris.
Each lamp is finely cast and with rich patination and depict a Chinese Circus performer balancing on a ball whilst juggling. The central stem resting on the juggler’s forehead rising to reeded urn finial and issuing three lights. Each lamp is raised on an octagonal stepped plinth.

Roland Paris (1894-1945) was born into a German artistic family in Vienna in 1894.
He was a student of Henry van de Velde and Gottlieb Elster at the Weimarer Kunstgewerbeschule, before moving to Berlin to study sculpture.
His work is often satirical and idiosyncratic, specialising in bronze and ivory figures, lamp bases and ceramics.
