Aîné Jean-Eugène Leclaire
BIOGRAPHY
Aîné Jean-Eugène Leclaire was the eldest of the Leclaire brothers of cabinet makers.
He owned a furniture and upholstery shop located in Paris at 33 rue Saint Nicolas Saint-Antoine in 1853 and at number 20 in 1856. Amongst other furniture, he is recorded as making buffets, dining tables, Secrétaires, cylinder desks and pianos.
Leclaire is also likely to have retailed furniture made by some of the other leading ébénistes of the day.
